Leader dossiers 2014-2020

Rural Development in the
Salamanca Mountain Ranges

The Association for the Integral Rural Development of the Salamanca Mountain Ranges (ADRISS) acts as a Local Action Group in the South of the province of Salamanca, specifically in the Bejar and Francia Mountain Ranges and neighbouring municipalities and is the current manager of the Leadercal 2014-2020 programme funds.

The EU Rural Development policy (Axis 4 of Regulation (EC) 1698/05) establishes a method called Leader, so that rural society itself can decide its Development Strategy through the action of Local Action Groups.

Each Group manages public funds in a region or area of action, by financing productive or non-productive projects that are in line with the Group's Strategy.

Desde ADRISS, hemos elaborado un mapa con los proyectos subvencionados con los Fondos Leader que gestionamos.

1. SIERRA DE FRANCIA CONSULTANCY

It is the opening of a business consultancy business in San Esteban de la Sierra (tax, accounting and labour).

It is a service that does not currently exist in the locality or in the surrounding villages, making it a business with great repercussions and social service and with the possibility of long-term maintenance.

The Leader investment has consisted in the adaptation of premises, furniture and computer equipment in order to be able to develop the activity properly.

One job is created and four more are supported.

2. PURCHASE OF FORESTRY EQUIPMENT FOR FOREST CLEARANCE

He is a promoter who has left the urban environment to work in a strategic sector for the area and the rural environment in general. His activity is that of cleaning up estates, both public and private, with the consequent environmental work of great importance; helping to prevent fires. There is a great need to clean the forest, so this file has a double aspect, on the one hand it generates its own job and on the other hand it does a great environmental work for the area of Entresierras, since the locality where it is located is San Esteban de la Sierra.

Moreover, in this case, the high public and private demand means that the viability of the project is assured.

The investment consisted of the purchase of an unmanned, radio-controlled, autonomous machine for cleaning on slopes and rough terrain.

3. INSTALLATION OF CHEESE-MAKING MACHINERY AND PLANT.

This dossier seeks to gain a foothold in a sector that is vital for the economy and the environment in general, namely agriculture and livestock farming. It is a cheese dairy in Aldeanueva de la Sierra that is seeing how it needs to improve its productivity by purchasing machinery and different facilities, while at the same time providing an outlet for the milk from its sheep and goat farm.

The company is consolidating itself with a quality product, within an economic sector that is of great interest on two fronts; on the one hand, it consolidates livestock activity and does so by offering a high quality product.

This company won an award in 2018 for the Golden Pentaward for the best packaging design. It generates female employment, which is of great importance as we know in terms of settling the population in rural areas for all that it entails.

4. TRAVELLING EXHIBITION ON SCIENCE IN RURAL AREAS

This is a dossier promoted by ADRISS with the aim of bringing science closer to the rural environment, because if science and innovation are not promoted, we will be forced to work exclusively in sectors such as services. Through this exhibition, which was held at La Casa del Parque de Batuecas Sierra de Francia in La Alberca, the aim was also to highlight the role of women in science, since, as has happened over the centuries, women have been relegated to a lesser role, which is why we want to highlight their role over time by showing the inventions that have arisen due to the role of women.

5. MODERNISATION OF AGRI-FOOD ENTERPRISES

It is a file that involves investments in machinery as a result of the company's need to improve its productivity, so that the company has the necessary economic viability and its market positioning is what the businessman requires.

The meat sector is an economic pillar in the area, without which the territory could not survive, so this type of dossier helps to improve the competitiveness and competition of companies in the area.

In this case, 3 jobs are generated and 11 are maintained, which is of great importance for the region and the town of Linares de Riofrío, which is hosting the investment.

6. MOBILE COMPUTER CLASSROOM

This is a dossier promoted by ADRISS, which consists of the purchase of 12 laptops to be offered to organisations in the area that wish to use them for computer courses (literacy, social networks, etc.).

To date we have only had two town councils that have requested it; Sorihuela and Navaredonda de la Rinconada, and the company Reina Kilama. We will continue to offer computers to all interested entities, as we believe that knowledge of new technologies is vital for citizens (distance learning, marketing, procedures with the Administration, etc.).

7. MUSIC SCHOOL

It is a project promoted by the Town Council of La Alberca that seeks to offer the inhabitants of La Alberca and surrounding municipalities a guaranteed musical offer, as the cultural offer for the inhabitants of rural areas is in many cases non-existent. For this reason, this school will serve to offer a quality programme to the inhabitants of the Mancomunidad de Sierra de Francia, especially to young people.

There are introductory courses for 4-5 year olds, basic training for 6-7 year olds and elementary and intermediate training for over 18 year olds.

The instruments that have been subsidized are double basses, violas, violins, piano, drums, as well as music stands, music stands, staves, etc.

8. MODERNIZATION OF MACHINERY IN COOPERATIVES

By investing in new machinery, the promoter seeks to improve profitability and productivity in the olive oil milling process, doubling production in time from the almost 40-50 tonnes that are collected every 24 hours. This is an economic activity within the primary sector; the olive grove, which is a traditional crop in the area.

The service offered to the cooperative members and the surrounding municipalities is essential for the continuation of this traditional sector. In this respect, it is important to be clear about the environmental service provided by maintaining hundreds of hectares of olive groves in the area.

The dossier entails the maintenance of the cooperative's current employment for the duration of the harvesting and milling activity (1.48 AWU).

9. MODERNIZATION OF MACHINERY IN THE AGRI-FOOD INDUSTRY

The company located in Sotoserrano intends with this investment to give a more modern image to the company, because the facilities are already many years old and the image that is transmitted is outdated and is not in line with the existing company policy. The façade will also be modernized, the layout of the rooms will be changed, machinery will be purchased and a new loading bay will be built with better accessibility for lorries.

Three jobs are created and eleven are maintained. Of these, two of the jobs created and three of the jobs maintained are women. It is a project of great importance for the locality and the area in terms of employment, especially for women.

10. MOUNTAIN BIKE CENTRE OF THE SILVER ROUTE

This is a network of mountain bike routes, promoted by the Mancomunidad de Ruta de la Plata. It aims to attract tourists and sportsmen and women who like this type of cycling.

The initiative is the second of its kind to be financed by ADRISS after the one carried out by the Mancomunidad de Entresierras, with the participation of six municipalities. On this occasion, twenty localities are actively participating in the initiative, although not all the municipalities of the Mancomunidad are taking part (even though the trails pass through their municipalities). The routes run from the town of Santibáñez de Béjar in the north to the area of Valdelageve and Lagunilla in the south. Therefore, the route covers areas close to the river Tormes, the entire Sangusín valley and has a branch very close to the city of Béjar, which starts from Cantagallo to the south.

The BTT centre is located in Cantagallo.

11. EXTENSION OF THE IBERIAN PORK SALTED MEAT INDUSTRIES

This dossier is located in Fuenterroble de Salvatierra. The meat sector in the region is of great importance, both in terms of economic activity and the employment it generates.

This project (an expansion of the business) seeks to increase production while at the same time creating a space to receive tourists visiting the Sierra de Francia and Entresierras, and to offer a small sample of the area's producers. The entrance to the region from the Ruta de la Plata motorway makes it necessary to pass in front of this business.

Four jobs are created and five are maintained.

12. HONEY DAY

At the request of the Reina Kilama cooperative in San Miguel de Valero, we were asked to organize a conference to discuss the quality of honeys and the possibility of creating a quality label for the cooperative together with the University of Salamanca.

On this day, with a large representation of beekeeping partners of the Cooperative, honey tastings can be done, showing the variety and quality of the cooperative's honeys. In addition, proposals were collected from the partners on the Cooperative's strategy and possible lines of collaboration with ADRISS.

13. COWORKING SPACE

This project, promoted by the Linares de Riofrío Town Council, offers, through investment, to facilitate the process of starting self-employment for entrepreneurs in the area. In this sense, the aim is for different entrepreneurs to collaborate in this space, creating synergies, instead of doing it alone in their own office or at home. And most interestingly, at a modest price that will cover the costs of maintaining the space (cleaning, water, electricity, heating and wifi, etc.).

The website of the space is www.espacioquilamas.es where you can see the characteristics of the workstations and the common space.

14. COSMETICS AND SPIRITS PROCESSING COURSE

This 40-hour course, promoted by ADRISS and held in Lagunilla, is organized at the request of the local town council, which is very interested because it considers that it could be a good job opportunity for unemployed and enterprising local people.

The first part of the course (20 hours) teaches how to make natural cosmetics, mainly with soaps and fats from olive oil. The next 20 hours are devoted to the production of liqueurs.

It is held on the premises of the Lagunilla school and is attended by eleven women and two men.

15. INTERPRETATION COURSE IN THE GARDEN OF THE COUNT

This 40-hour course, promoted by ADRISS, was held in the town of Peñacaballera. It was organized because the town is home to the Jardín del Conde, a garden listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest. It is an important tourist resource for visitors to the region of Béjar, as it is a garden with great forest and landscape diversity.

The course mainly involves accommodation and businesses in the southern part of the Béjar region. Another objective of the course is also fulfilled; that the owners of these businesses get to know each other and cooperate to provide an even better service to tourists.

There are 13 participants, of which 6 are men and 7 are women.

16. PRODUCT TRANSFORMATION COURSE

This 40-hour course, promoted by ADRISS, was held in the town of Cepeda, since its location is one of the best for locating produce processing companies from a logistical point of view.  It is the area of the territory where there are more fruit farms and the soil is good for horticultural cultivation.

The course is divided into four parts of 10 hours each; preparation of vegetable preserves, sweet and savory jams, liqueurs and natural cosmetics.

The participation has been twelve women and one man.

17. ECOTOURISM COURSE

This 35-hour course, organised by ADRISS in the town of San Martín del Castañar, was proposed with the aim of promoting a type of tourism that respects the environment, offering environmental interpretation activities in an area that is a Biosphere Reserve. In this sense, the offer of rural accommodation in the area has to focus on quality tourism, both in terms of the accommodation on offer and in terms of the experiences that tourists visiting the area take away with them.

Several lodgings in the area participated in this course with 12 students; 10 women and 2 men.

18. CONSTRUCTION OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDING FOR INDUSTRIAL EXTENSION

The aim of this project is to extend the warehouse and facilities in order to improve the storage, organization and dispatch of orders, as well as to improve the order dispatch systems. The sector of activity in which the project fits is the meat sector, as the promoter manufactures and markets sausages, mainly for the retail trade.

Through this project, it has been possible to generate female employment in the town of Fuenterroble de Salvatierra.

19. EXTENSION OF THE OLD PEOPLE'S HOME

The Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Foundation in Puerto de Béjar is extending its facilities. Before the investment, it had a capacity for 17 places; it was extended with 19 more, so that the residence finally has a capacity for 36 places. The economic profitability of the company, which was compromised with the initial places, is improved.

It is the only residence that provides coverage within a radius of almost 20 km, as it covers all the villages in the south of the province and those in the north of Cáceres. In this sense, its location is very important to provide care to the area, which is why we consider it to be a strategic project in terms of social coverage.

It is also important in terms of employment, as 2.9 jobs (AWU) are generated and almost 9 jobs are maintained with the investment, of which all but one are female.

20. IMPROVEMENTS TO HONEY AND POLLEN PACKAGING LINE, WAX PRODUCTION

With this dossier, the San Miguel de Valero Cooperative is seeking to improve its productivity in order to meet the demand for honey, pollen and wax. In this way it will not lose competitiveness with other companies and cooperatives in Spain. This cooperative is one of the leading honey and pollen producers in Spain. This type of initiative is what strengthens the strategic economic sectors of our area.

It is the only residence that provides coverage within a radius of almost 20 km, as it covers all the villages in the south of the province and those in the north of Cáceres. In this sense, its location is very important to provide care to the area, which is why we consider it to be a strategic project in terms of social coverage.

The Cooperative is located in San Miguel de Valero, and has more than 130 members. The project generates 5 temporary jobs and maintains 8 jobs (7 men and 6 women).

21. DAY FOR THE HOTEL AND CATERING TRADE IN THE SIERRA DE FRANCIA IN THE FORM OF DAYS FOR LOCALITIES

This is a training course organised in collaboration with the DOP Sierra de Salamanca, which aims to train hotel and restaurant owners in the Sierra de Francia and Entresierras in wine tasting. In this course, special reference is made, as it could not be otherwise, to the peculiarities of the local grape; the rufete. These courses, each lasting 10 hours, are held in the towns of Sotoserrano, San Esteban de la Sierra, La Alberca and Sequeros. Almost 50 people have attended.

The objective of the conference is linked to the Local Development Strategy of ADRISS, since the promotion and increase of the consumption of local products in the region and the province is one of the strategic objectives. It is especially relevant the use of these products in the hospitality industry of the area, so that, taking advantage of the tourism that comes to the area, they are used and promoted for their consumption in situ and subsequent sale.

22. COURSE OF INTERPRETATION OF THE BERRUECO SITE

One of the objectives of this 40-hour course held in El Tejado is to bring together the main actors in tourism in the Alto Tormes area so that there can be a forum for debate and agreements can be reached regarding tourism in the area, especially with regard to the Berrueco archaeological site. This site, listed as a BIC, could be a revulsive for the area as other sites have been in other areas of Spain (read archaeological parks or similar). Moreover, the area does not have many resources, apart from the River Tormes, to position itself in the provincial panorama of rural tourism.

There were 14 students from different sectors, mainly from the service and hotel industry. The evaluation of the course has been very positive because they have discovered the possibilities of exploiting the site, which in many cases they were unaware of, and they have valued the potential it has if public resources are invested by the Administrations.

23. MULTI-ADVENTURE CIRCUIT PARK

This is a project promoted by Candelario Town Council which seeks to promote an alternative activity to tourist accommodation in the town and in the region of Béjar, as there is no circuit of these characteristics in the area. The environmental quality of the municipality of Candelario and the region in general makes it an ideal place to carry out an initiative of this kind.

The idea is to carry out various circuits using tree supports to test the participants' balance and skill.

Three jobs will be created, two men and one woman, as the City Council will grant an administrative concession to a company to manage the project.

24. PLAN FOR THE REVITALIZATION OF THE SIERRA DE FRANCIA WINE ROUTE

The program of all the routes had a common structure:

  • Reception of attendees.
  • A route interpreted by companies in the area.
  • "Tasting a territory", which consisted of tasting the local products of the Route's partners in the locality or nearby localities.

More than two thousand people have participated in the routes and have helped the people of the region to get to know what the route aims to do and to be "ambassadors" for it. In addition, tourists visiting the area can participate in a series of activities that allow them to get to know the region better.

25. OIL, HONEY AND WINE TASTING DAYS AND PINCHOS WITH LOCAL PRODUCE

This dossier involves the organization of several days of promotion and tasting of local products such as wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey and the preparation of pinchos or tapas with local products. The aim, as in the case of the tasting workshops for the hotel and catering trade, is to promote our local products among the hotel and catering trade in the area and the interested public. They were held in the towns of Linares de Riofrío, Candelario and La Alberca, as these are the towns with the largest populations and the largest number of catering businesses.

26. RELOCATION OF GARAGE

This project consisted of moving from the old premises to new one with more capacity and services for the customer, since the aim is to improve the service offered to the customers of Candelario and the tourists who visit the municipality. This is a car maintenance and repair service, so necessary in any locality. With this investment, one temporary job will be created and two other jobs will be maintained.

27. FURNISHING OF MUNICIPAL HOSTEL

This dossier consists of the furnishing of a municipal hostel in the town of Puerto de Béjar. The objective is to provide shelter for pilgrims who make the route of the Vía de la Plata, since this hostel has a strategic location; the Vía runs a few meters from it.

The local council has reached an agreement with the Association of Friends of the Vía de la Plata for the management of the hostel, as they do with the Fuenterroble de Salvatierra hostel. This initiative, along with another that has arisen with the recovery of the old train station, can give dynamism to the town and the entire area.

28. REFURBISHMENT OF TRAIN STATION FOR RESTAURANT AND FURNISHINGS

This project, located in the town of Puerto de Béjar, has consisted in the recovery of an old building for the passengers of the train station located in the town. The entrepreneurs, residents of the locality, have helped to turn a charming area into a nucleus to promote tourism and activities in the area, bringing together catering activities, children's games, etc. The most important resource is the Vía Verde from Béjar to Baños de Montemayor, which runs alongside the station and is sure to be a great attraction for tourists visiting the area.

Six jobs are generated, including self-employed and casual jobs, of which four are women and two are men.

29. PORCH AND ADAPTATION OF THE MUNICIPAL SERVICES CENTRE.

This is a non-productive project in Aldeanueva de la Sierra, which aims to create a municipal service centre where all municipal services are grouped together, recovering an old building that has a certain architectural interest. This relocation will improve the municipal facilities in terms of energy consumption and by having all the municipal services in a single building.

30. NETWORK OF TRAILS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF NAVARREDONDA DE LA RINCONADA

The file aims to recover and signpost three trails for use as mountain bike trails. The location is in the Sierra de la Calería and they would be routes that would connect with the route signposted by the University of Salamanca. The route is about 26 km long, of which 14.8 km will be signposted for mountain biking. These routes, together with those of other localities such as Linares de Riofrío or San Miguel de Valero, will position themselves as an interesting offer for hikers and cyclists in the Entresierras area.

A leaflet with the routes will also be published, and it is intended that all this information will be included in the future Nature Classroom of Linares de Riofrío, which will open in the summer of 2020.

31. PURCHASE OF MACHINERY AND INSTALLATION

The project, promoted by a company in Linares de Riofrío, aims to improve production by means of new machinery needed to meet demand, as this service is currently outsourced. It will also improve the range of products and, with the investment, help to maintain jobs.

One job is created and fourteen are maintained.

32. LAND BANK, HOUSING, BUSINESSES WITH NO GENERATIONAL REPLACEMENT AND NEW CROPS

This is a dossier promoted by the group itself that seeks to draw up a census of homes and land that are rented, sold or transferred. The objective we have, which is vital to the Group's strategy, is to make them available for possible new settlers-entrepreneurs who want to come and live in the area. We know that it is difficult to make a living from agriculture alone in rural areas, especially for new farms that require initial investment, but there are people who are interested in not losing their farms and are willing to hand them over so that they can maintain production. In this sense, we are also collecting data on businesses that are being transferred or abandoned, so that in this way we can supplement the income of people who want to settle in the area.

We are also studying new crops that are adapting to the territory, such as red fruits or some traditional crops that have not been properly exploited for years (nuts, chestnuts, vegetables, etc.). We must take advantage of this moment in which consumers are more aware of what they are buying to promote the consumption of local and/or organic products. There are also opportunities for new agro-ecological practices in the agro-livestock sector, whose products will be in increasing demand.

Once the data collection has been completed, the Land Bank will be publicized so that the information reaches as many people as possible. We believe that university students can be a very interesting group for this project, as they have the knowledge to be able to promote new business projects that diversify agricultural activity.

33. NATURE TOURISM CONFERENCE IN MOGARRAZ AND FUENTES DE BÉJAR

These conferences, promoted by ADRISS in the towns of Mogarraz and Fuentes de Béjar, aim to create a space for entrepreneurs involved in rural tourism to draw conclusions about where they want tourism in the area to go.

The dilemma is whether to continue doing what has been done to date; welcoming the tourists who come, giving them information about the area and little else (trusting that the tourist will be satisfied with the visit to the area alone), or seeking greater involvement of the business community in tourist services. In this sense, the aim of this conference is to raise awareness of the companies Ver Aves and Aquila Naturaleza, which are the two new companies that are interpreting nature in the area. To ensure that there is a connection between the accommodation companies and the interpretation companies so that tourists visiting the area have a good experience.

You can see the conclusions here.

34. GOOD PRACTICES IN RURAL AREAS FOR ENTREPRENEURS AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

This conference promoted by ADRISS aims to bring the rural world closer to university students, especially to young people in their final years of studies who are looking for a professional future. ADRISS has a double objective:

  • To inform young university students at the University of Salamanca about self-employment in rural areas as a professional opportunity.
  • To show a real image of the life possibilities offered by the rural environment, avoiding stereotypes.

To achieve these objectives, a route with the following stops was planned:

  • A visit was made to a three-hectare farm which, although it has only been in operation for a few years, is becoming established and giving the area a viable planting possibility such as red fruits (decades ago the area of Linares de Riofrío was very famous for strawberry cultivation).
  • This was followed by a presentation of the company Agroberry, which has carved out a niche for itself in Zamora and succeeded in settling a young couple in a small town.
  • In the afternoon we visited Jorge Sempere's farm in the village of El Cerro, which has been planting chestnut, hazelnut and walnut trees for several years with ecological agroforestry practices and with the medium-term objective of making the farm profitable. In a few years' time, it will certainly be profitable.

In short, they have been given a vision of the possibilities offered by the rural environment, and how the sowing of "new" and traditional crops in an agro-ecological way can be profitable in the medium term. In the interval in which profitability is achieved, these entrepreneurs should be helped to take up residence in the village.

35. RURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONFERENCES

One of the strategic lines of ADRISS is based on entrepreneurship. One of the problems that arises is why there are no "qualified" job offers in rural areas, so, if we want to gain qualified human capital, we consider that we must attract it or strengthen it in the residents through self-employment. Business innovation can generate new, more qualified jobs, and this is another of the future lines of work that should be undertaken by the Group.

The conference, held in Linares de Riofrío, consisted of 9 seminars:

  • SEMINAR 1. How to root my business project?
  • SEMINAR 2. Rural entrepreneurship in Salamanca.
  • SEMINAR 3. My business model.
  • SEMINAR 4. The model canvas.
  • SEMINAR 5. Fiscal aspects for entrepreneurship.
  • SEMINAR 6. Human Resources.
  • SEMINAR 7. Branding and Communication.
  • SEMINARIO 8. Marketing y Community Manager.
  • SEMINAR 9. Internationalisation and Exports.

Each seminar lasted 4 hours; the first three hours corresponded to the subject matter and in the last hour a local entrepreneur shared his or her experience and a discussion ensued.

The experience was very satisfactory, with regular participation of about 10 entrepreneurs and business people from different areas.

36. PROGRAM FOR THE PROMOTION OF SERRANO EMBROIDERY

This dossier has been promoted by ADRISS, at the request of the Arrayan Network, which is working on the promotion, recovery and dissemination of Serrano embroidery. With our dossier, we seek to help, as far as possible, to promote this work.

The following actions have been carried out with the dossier:

  • Promotional Video.
  • Edition of Popular Embroidered Brochure.
  • Balcones Event in Mogarraz (Embroidery Day)
  • Layout of the Study for its paper and digital edition.
  • Digital Campaign to Promote Embroidery as an Asset of Cultural Interest.
  •

37. CREATION OF A HANDICRAFT AND CERAMICS WORKSHOP

This project, promoted by an entrepreneur, seeks the recovery of a house in the town of Montemayor del Río, for the development of a handicraft workshop for the production of original ceramics, painting, etc.

One of the floors has been set aside for exhibition and sales and the other for a workshop. This type of initiative is what can make a town like Montemayor del Río, known for its chestnut basketry crafts, a tourist destination, as it is also a historical site. This demonstrates that a viable craft activity can be developed in a municipality such as Montemayor del Río.

One female job is created.

38. GRAFFITI COMPETITION

This is a non-productive project promoted by the Garcibuey Town Council, which seeks to promote the town through a novel project. It consists of a graffiti competition in the municipality, in which graffiti artists of recognised prestige have participated and who, by means of this artistic technique, have managed to attract the interest of the media and tourists visiting the Sierra de Francia. As a result of this project, Garcibuey has become an obligatory visit.

39. BUILDING AND INSTALLATIONS FOR CUTTING, HANDLING, PACKAGING AND STORAGE OF MEAT PRODUCTS

This is a productive file in the industrial estate of Béjar. It is a new building that will allow the expansion of the facilities that are becoming too small, located in the town of Béjar. It will have a freezing chamber, refrigeration, clean room, bakery, cured product warehouse, etc.

With this investment three jobs are generated; two men and one woman, so we consider it interesting because of the impact of employment and because it specializes the Béjar industrial estate in the agri-food sector, one of the sectors of activity that may have more future.

40. BUTCH SHOP AND RESTAURANT

This project located in the square of La Alberca aims to offer two new services in the town; on the one hand, a butcher's shop on the ground floor and catering services on the upper floor with the products sold in the butcher's shop. This is a service that to date has not been offered in La Alberca, which we consider to be an innovation in terms of catering services in the town; diners will be able to choose the food they are going to eat in the restaurant. A town like La Alberca has to innovate in everything related to the hotel and catering industry, as this is the way to offer new tourist products.

This dossier generates three jobs; two men and one woman, which is also interesting from an employment point of view.

41. STORAGE, WEIGHING AND FREEZING OF IBERIAN PIGS

The business strategy of the company located in the Béjar industrial estate is to receive, weigh, pack and freeze mainly Iberian meat, although it does not rule out other agri-food products that are incorporating this practice. In this way, the businessman removes the product when he considers that he has to do so, as he has facilities prepared and certified for this purpose.

The dossier continues with the specialization of the Béjar industrial estate in agri-food activity, which we believe could be fundamental for the development of the area.

One male job is created.

42. DAY ON FOREST FIRE PREVENTION ACTIONS

ADRISS promotes this project, which consists of the organization of a conference at the Casa del Parque de Batuecas Sierra de Francia, with the aim of encouraging local organizations, mayors, associations, forestry companies, forest rangers, etc. to reflect on the most appropriate agroforestry practices to prevent fires in the area and generate socio-economic development.

Se obtuvo una buena participación por parte de autoridades y entidades de la comarca.

You can see the program and the conclusions of the conference. here.

43. PURCHASE OF REFRIGERATED WALL AND MODERNIZATION OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

This project in the town of Linares de Riofrío aims to improve the energy efficiency of the facilities, with the purchase of a refrigerated wall and the replacement of the supermarket's lighting, switching from fluorescent to LED luminaires. This will modernize and improve the energy management of the space. In addition, a point of sale for local and regional products has been set up.

The dossier does not generate employment but maintains 4 jobs, 3 of which are female.

44. ADRISS PROMOTIONAL STAND

This is a dossier that tries to respond to the ADRISS strategy for promotion abroad. It is a promotional stand that reflects the characteristics of the region, a modular stand that can be used in different events. The photographs that are incorporated in the panels show the biodiversity, customs and traditions of the area so that they can be a complement to the companies that accompany the group for possible sales.

As mentioned above, the participation of ADRISS in the fairs will be more incisive and it is intended to reach new locations and agreements with local entities to accompany the group in this promotion.
